Winter break has come at last.
The day was fun, if not a little annoying as the kids got on a bigger collective sugar high as we neared the end.
Now no school for 12 days.

Intellectually, I am aware

To get an English teacher a book. Yes, chances are I have already read the wonderfully hip new bestseller on the table in the front of the store, but I will happy accept and love all interesting editions, especially those of books I already own.
Case in point: Penguin Classics Deluxe Editions. These books are beautiful, well edited, and often chock-full of helpful additions.
